As we all know, a
turbo car is as only as good as its Power to Weight ratio and the latest
Porsche 911 GT2 has 340kW/1440kg!
The word "good"
does not go any where near to describe the LATEST Turbo from
Zuffenhausen that redefines the meaning of a user friendly Supercar! Most
of us can only dream of owning such an appealing piece of automotive
turbocharged history, but to the lucky few, it represents the pinnacle of
performance. Unlike the previous 911Turbo, the GT2 is rear wheel drive,
not four wheel drive and handles the extreme acceleration with a different
manner than the 911Turbo. With 340kW @ 5700rpm and 620Nm at 3500-4500rpm
the 3.6 litre boxer 6 with twin KKK turbo's is leaving all but the McLaren
F1 in its wake. The quarter mile is consumed in only 11.7 seconds @
193km/h with it having reached 60mph in the first 3.9 seconds. With the
six speed manual making the most of shifting the 1440kg of beautiful
metal sculpture to a final top speed of over 300 km/h.
Porsche Poetry in motion?
Super clean profile of the GT2 only
broken by the new style rear spoiler that is required to maintain
stability while traversing the unrestricted outback roads of
Australia's Northern Territory at over 200 km/h.

Vario Cam Plus is Porsches answer to BMWs VANOS
Honda's VTEC etc. The intake Cams on each head vary the valve lift
via two interacting tappets adjusted by cam lobe profiles of
different sizes. This rewards the the driver with plenty of torque
when needed and also benefits fuel economy and emissions
considerations when not utilising all that power.
