The
completed TurboClub Intake Manifold was worth
all the time, effort and expense as you can see.
The only thing to do now is polish or paint it
for that special show car look!
The pipe leading
to the throttle body here is stainless with
modifications to allow the bypass air from the
idle solenoid and boost bypass through the old
Bosche blow off valve from my Starion. This is
only temporary as its not engineered like
factory which is the look I want.
The finished
system will be the original cast intake piping
modified to use the original PBV ( By-Pass
Valve). NOT BOV (Blow Off Valve) as its an AUTO.
I DO NOT LIFT OFF THE THROTTLE WHEN RACING TO
CHANGE GEARS!
The Automatic
Transmission is modified to take a beating.
The BPV (By Pass
Valve) is there to open under vacuum to allow
faster response on acceleration by enabling more
metered air to get into the intake manifold
quickly by a shorter path than through the turbo
and FMIC (Front Mount Inter Cooler)
Here you can see
the modified intake Throttle Body sensor wires
lengthened to reach the now much further forward
TB. I had to carefully cut away the loom to get
at the wires and re-tape it all up again.
