The first fitment
for alignment and under hood clearance hinted at
the final shape and improvement in air flow that
was the reason for all this work.
The only
concern was that the Throttle body being mounted
on the plenum in a different position to
standard could upset even airflow.
The basic shape
was coming together OK , but I had to be careful
the throttle body mounting point was not going
to foul on anything for safety and operational
reasons.
The plenum
volume was calculated by various means but ended
up being a compromise on form and function. It
was also important to shape the top correctly so
the hood would not be rubbing on it and
hopefully to have clearance for a Tower Strut
Brace.

The Throttle body
was positioned pointing toward the intended FMIC
inlet from the drivers side guard that would
also incorporate the standard BPV - By-Pass
Valve. ( NOT BOV -it's an Auto!)

Bit of an
improvement on the original mock up, but you
have to start somewhere and work at improvements
as you go.
