Car Model Feature - Nissan HR32 Skyline GTS-t. Page 1
R32 GTS-t Feature P1
Don't be mistaken, this
is NOT a Nissan
Skyline GT-R.
It
certainly does look like a Nissan Skyline GTR,
with the unmistakable front aggressive
and familiar wide mouthed intercooler opening. The
Skyline GTR has always been at the top of the
performance food chain with the so called "GODZILLA"
able to take on most exotic models of performance
automobiles worldwide.
The immaculate
example you see here has had a vast amount of time and
expense by Ben the owner, to achieve that GTR effect
at a much lower cost than buying an original GTR.

But when you make a
conscious decision to buy a lesser model Nissan
Skyline there is always the lure of the image of
owning a GTR, even if the mighty RB26DETT is not
lurking under the hood.
If you have purchased a
Skyline GTS-t, the almost similar lines can be
enhanced with a few modifications to give all but the
Skyline aficionados the impression your lucky enough
to own "Godzilla".
The fitment of the
appropriate Aluminum hood and three vent grille with a
Front bumper GTR clip can fool most as long as the
obligatory FMIC - Front Mount Inter -Cooler is also
fitted to fill the space and more importantly to cool
the air expelled from the Turbocharger before it
enters the engine.
Over a period of
time Ben, a member of SkylinesAustralia.com, has
transformed this very popular Nissan Skyline GTS-t
into a cohesive package that performs as well as it
looks in these spectacular images by his brother
Chris. (Click to see original photo's)
THE HR32 Skyline GTS-t
is also blessed with an RB engine of lesser capacity
but Turbocharged to compensate for the two litres of
high revving ECCS RB20DET. As most owners want to have
the power of "Godzilla" as well as the looks, there is
always many ways to improve the output toward standard
GTR levels to try to give that ultimate GTR
experience. Ben has done his home work on this
procedure to give the expected driving experience. The
2 Litre RB20DET usually supplies enough horsepower to
get the Rear Wheel Drive coupe weighing about 1400Kg
down the quarter mile in around 15 seconds in standard
trim. With the usual modifications of a 3" Exhaust,
FMIC, Pod Filter, BOV, and a bit more boost, the time
can tumble down to the low 14's and even 13's for the
quarter.
