Thanks for your reply.
If you want to see the car you can look on the site
http://space.tin.it/sport/asbarag/
and chose friends and links.
Of course its the red car..
Also there is our rally site if you are interested?
http://www.saluzzo.isiline.it/eventi/ruotadoro/index.html
Its a prototype built in 1988 basically a Turbo Lotus Elise with more spec
but it 10 years ahead of its time so everyone said there would be no market
when it did the tour of the worlds motor shows.
I have only had it for a few months most of which was spending time working
on the control linkage for the close ration Zf crash gearbox.
Have you ever tried to find a company that can make special cables for
gearbox change mechanisms???
Anyway gearbox sorted..Electronic sensor speedo ordered and arriving from
VDO in germany september.
So I thought I would start on the power efficiency.
The car has a flat bottom with a 'Skirt' underneath and only several intakes
for air 2 on side and 2 on bottom plus a few other small areas...It has 3
radiators and an oil cooler and runs ok when moving but under bonnet air
temperatures get hot when she is standing and i dont like the idea of the
intercooler being above the injectors (will work on a fresh air duct to
intercooler in future).
First things first threw out the airbox with paper element and all that
1.5metres of narrow tubing that took the air from one of the side intakes
now I whacked the cone filter straight onto the air control unit which is
much lower down and now in the flow of the air intake vents.
I was just wondering whether it was worth putting more tubing in to get the
filter right down behind the side air intake and whether it will make any
difference?
Seems your answer tells me I ought to make the effort to get it down as near
to the fresh airflow as poss.

Boost really low at moment as this car has direct steering,(1.5 turn lock to
lock) adjustable Push rod side mounted suspension and plenty of new items to
learn to you use so boost currently left at standard .6bar Though I thought
i saw 1 bar once?
I cant tell you the 0-60(100kms) at the moment but if we were to whack it I
guess it would be 6,or 7, secs. The top speed is only 178kms as it has a
close ratio gearbox.Wonder how much more acceleration at 1bar?
The beauty of this car is that it will corner mountain roads at 70(120kms)
without lurching.
Sorry to be so vague but at the moment its not been registered for road use
and I am taking it to the uk end of october for this (I am infact English)
so it cant be properly used on public roads (wink, wink)

Anyway specs.
Garret T3 though I did read in an old article on the car that it was T4 I
cant find it written on the turbo plate..Turbo has water cooling.
Striaght through 2.1\2" exhaust with one box silencer.
Bosh Jetronic fuel injection with intercooler and solex throttle conrol
there is also a Piepsburg boost selenoid but dont ask me what its setting
is.?
In fact I was wondering when turning up to at least 1bar whats the best
way?? Bleed valv,e screwing in the wastgate spring or what..Guess the valve
eh then I can set it how I want??
What is the best safe margin setting on boost I have heard 1.2 1.3 1.4bar I
want good power with buggering the car and dont want to chip at the
moment..After all its supposedly a 1 off historic example..
Actually as you have probably guessed I dont know a bean about Turbo's my
main field is older cars with mechanical P.I.

Anyway thats enough to bore you with if you want some pics of the suspension
etc just let me know.

Nice to know there are you guys out there for me to start learning new
tricks all over again..
Your site is about the best there is so thanks for the help..
Cheers
