Email AFTER Dyno Tune by Morpowa
SECTION 1

Hi Martin, hows it going?
Just got my car hauling after doing a few things and wanted to let you know
after you tuned and dyno'd it.

I was happy and impressed when I first drove it away from Morpowa, and the
run home was interesting as was the whole trip. My wife has put together a
story on it that I will send you some time;-)

As you know the piping blew off and I had to fix it on the side of the road
before the border.
When I got to the outskirts of Melb. I had a drag with a Commodore and SHIT!
everything exploded like the boost was skyhigh. I had not checked it after
repairing the I/C Piping.

After turning it back to 15PSI next day the car never seemed to go as well
as it should have and I was pretty disappointed in a run at Calder last week
of a 14.8@94.5Mph  (60' - 2.4) BUT I forgot to take it out of overdrive!

Since then I have thought about everything and realised a few things like, I
had never EVER really cleaned the K&N Air filter in the 6 years I have owned
the car! Shook it and vacuumed it but not washed it like an article in Zoom?
mentioned recently. SO after washing it four times it came clean!

Put it back in (and you set the idle to 700 RPM) and it immediately idled at
1300!! After some driving it settles back to 7-800.

So now we are getting somewhere. Then thought a the boost adjuster under the
hood was not the best way, so interfaced to bleed valve in cabin. Found bled
air rushing at start of boost and figured that instead of boost being read
from turbo snail it would be better and later to open wastegate if boost
read from manifold.

Replumbed the system and blocked snail tube and now the car is starting to
kick arse!
It now feels much more responsive and glides along with out needing hardly
any throttle when cruising.
It seems to be going much harder but still holding at 15PSI when pushed.

With some BITRON fuel additive to the Vortex Gold ( not high octane but it
seems to bring my wifes Familia GTX alive!) in half a tank of Optimax, it is
now making me smile!;-)

Anyway thanks for your efforts on my car and finding that intermittent
problem in the electrics.

Also I wanted to ask what was the duty cycle of the injectors and why you
did not go higher on the boost?

I am keen to get much more power and think I will fit the injectors and an
aftermarket EFI computer to push the turbo harder as my son who works as
Honeywell/AlliedSignal/Garrett Test cell engineer recons it should handle
more boost OK. ATP who built it says its good for 250kw.

AS long as we fuel it and keep det away it should make at least 200 Kw dont
you think?

Is it worth replacing the exh. man. for a custom unit? Fitting a External
Wastegate?
OR should I replace the  T3/T4 Backcut Turbo to something else.

Hope you read this far;-)

Regards Greg.
