What father with gasoline in
his veins could resist the temptation to
participate in this classic once a year hillclimb
opportunity?
I know Ray could not
resist considering that he has a local holiday
house and a large investment in time and effort to
register the AMX with all the relevant bodies that
determine eligibility of particular vehicles for
racing.
The American Motors
Corporation AMX was built in the USA but sent to
Australia in CKD to be assembled in Port Melbourne
in the late sixties.
As such the AMX is the
only real US Muscle Car to be produced and sold in
Australia. Its larger brother the Javelin was also
assembled and sold here for a few years but was
not in the same performance category.
