PRESIDENTS REPORT
Another month passes.
March was busy for most Car Club members. Working at the Australian Grand Prix, we
noticed a lot of other members offering their services for the four days. Challenger of
Clubs was another event in March. From MMAL we has Adrian Best and Sue rolling the event
to a finish. A week later, the TCV Trial saw 2 teams from our Club. Adrian being the
master of illusion gave his car a new roof and screen, straightened a few bits and back on
the way to scrutineering early Saturday morning then off to the Rally for him and Rob. Sue
Evans and Brent McNeill was our other team, with none of the dramas that Adrians
circus had. Both crews came home safe and sound. Powelltown was at its best as usual -
rain, rain, and more rain. Oh, and we cant forget the leeches.
The next events for our members are Coffs Harbour by the Evans Family and their new
VWs. WIN TV for Chris Rayson and the George Derrick for Sue and Brent, and Adrian
& Rob.
Our Club is having a social evening at Moorabbin Ten Pin Bowl on Friday 22nd
April. Keep reading further on to find out the time and cost, it should be a great family
night.
As you are aware, our Shepparton Weekend was postponed. Please read about what we are
now doing and when, further on in this issue.
Talk to you next month. If anyone wants to know whats happening in Rallying or
Autocross, please call me.
As you may recall we postponed our Shepparton weekend. We now have decided to hold it
as a one-day event on 12th September 1999. Details follow in this issue.
From the Mitsubishi Web site, Ive included details of the "Safari Rally
Kenya" & also "TAP Rallye De Portugal".
This months recipes are muffins; theyre my favourite and Colins.
Our Committee member profile this month is Adam Bloomfield, who is on our General
Committee.
Are you interested in having youre racecar details including photos published on

Recipes
Here are more yummy recipes for you to try.
Choc-Cherry Muffins
1 cup self raising flour ½ cup plain flour
½ cup cocoa powder ½ tsp bicarb soda
1 cup caster sugar ½ cup desiccated coconut
½ cup crushed nuts ½ cup chopped glace red cherries
½ cup Choc Bits 1 egg, lightly beaten
20gm butter, melted ½ cup milk
½ cup boiling water
Preheat oven to 180C. Spray 12-hole muffin pan with cooking spray.
Sift flours, cocoa and soda into large bowl; add remaining ingredients, stir until just
combined. Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake in oven for 20 minutes.
Makes 12.
Chocolate Caramel "Surprise" Muffins
It is best to freeze the caramel-filled milk chocolate eggs in advance. This will help
them to retain their shape in the muffins when cooked. The muffins can be made up 1 day
ahead and stored in an airtight container. Reheat just before serving. (See note below)
Preheat oven to 180C. Spray 12-hole muffin pan with cooking spray.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and nutmeg into a medium mixing bowl. Stir in
the brown sugar. Whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter and egg in a jug until well
combined.
Add buttermilk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir with a metal spoon until just
combined. Spoon half the mixture into the muffin pans, dividing evenly. Place a
caramel-filled egg upright into the centre of each muffin. Spoon over the remaining
mixture and spread to ensure eggs are completely covered with the mixture.
Bake in preheated oven for 14 minutes or until golden. Stand in pan for 5 minutes
before turning onto a wire rack. Serve warm.
NOTE: Wrap the muffins in foil and reheat in oven preheated to 180C for 10 minutes.
To reheat in microwave, place 8 muffins on a microwave-safe plate and elevate on a
microwave-safe rack or upturned plate. Heat, uncovered, for 1 minute on Medium/500
watts/50% or until warm. Be careful when reheating the muffins in the microwave, as the
caramel filling will become very hot.
